Temperature tower test

We start the test with a temperature tower from Thingiverse. Bed temperature set at 50°C which is the standard setting for PLA on FlashPrint with FlashForge Adventurer 3. Printing is done using the standard 0.4 nozzle.

Temperature tower

Bridging

Bridging issues at low temperatures.

Lowering the temperature, bridging problems start to appear already at 190°C, and becomes severe at 180°C.

Stringing

Some stringing occurs at all temperatures, but significantly less the higher temperature you use. Maybe 220°C is a bit better than 225°C.

Small detail

As you rise the nozzle temperature 3D printers usually has to struggle with small details. In this case though I say it is OK all the way, but maybe a bit better at 180–185°C.

Overhang

Overhang looks good on all temperatures, except on 180°C and 225°C where curling artifacts are more visible on the steeper grades, though not severe. The other temperatures are quite equal, but if I have to pick a winner in this category I guess I would say 195°.

Filament swatch

The filament swatch with box to store them in can be downloaded from PrusaPrinters. Printed using the standard 0.4 nozzle.

The filament swatch was printed at 220°C. This resulted in some curling. Should redo it in 210°.

Verdict

I would probably stay away from the 190° and print in the range of 195°–210° depending on what is being printed. Reading customer reviews it might benefit from an increased bed temperature to 60°, but I haven’t noticed any problems printing on 50° yet. There is one customer review that the filament on some spools are not well wound, but I haven’t seen anyone else commenting on that, and my spool works great so far.

The general verdict is that this is a good filament to a great price!
