Next up to be painted turned out to be Flops.
I started painting with «Arid earth» on the body, but it was too light yellow, almost egg shell. Switched to «Moon dust» and got a much better nuance. Moon dust has somewhat bad coverage, and I painted three layers this session, but after the third layer I believe that the basing is no longer visible, and I can not see any difference between the areas where I painted Moon dust directly on the base coating and the areas I first painted with Arid earth.
Body | Moon dust |
Bag, eye patch, base, arrowhead | Angel green |
As usual with Stuffed fables Paul Gestwicki’s Blog is a great example of how the miniatures of this game can be painted, and I usually aim for something similar.
For a short second session I aimed at getting all the major parts done. For the front and the tail I was aiming for «Fluffy light bunny pink», but unfortunately Army Painter doesn’t have that one. Instead I went with «Mutant hue», and I’m pretty happy with the result. (The photos below have a color shift and they are not as purple as one can get the impression of.) For the bow and arrows I used «Oak brown», with «Dragon red» for the arrow feathers. Finally I painted the eyeballs with «Jungle green».
Front, tail | Mutant hue |
Bow, arrow | Oak brown |
Arrow feathers | Dragon red |
Eyes | Jungle green |
The third session added wash, dry brushing and some details.
Wash | Light tone |
Drybrush bag | Jungle green |
Drubrush front, tail | Centaur skin |
Eyebrows, noce | Hardened carapace |
Seams on the head | Werewolf fur |
